Review of the 2008 season so far

2008 so far has been the year of qualifying, and I must say I am very pleased with all our efforts, all the team have worked extremely hard. I have had the pleasure to partner Paul Hogarth in his new Paradigm In2Racing Lamborghini Gallardo in the UK Britcar Championship.

Missing the first round at Silverstone as the car had not yet arrived from the factory, our first meeting was at Snetterton where we found ourselves on the front row, 0.5 seconds quicker than British GT pole. Come race day a laptop glitch on a data download rendered the car unusable so all very disappointed we went home early.

Next meeting was Brands Hatch here qualifying 3rd and after an action packed weekend we received a Trophy for coming home third, action packed as we had to pit for a punctured left rear and then again for a stop go penalty received for overtaking a very slow moving car under a yellow flag, so all in all not a bad weekend after all.

Our next meeting a return to SPA seven years since our last visit and our Radical Sports car lap record. Qualifying went well with eventual pole, not bad after all that time away.

Only for all of us to be mortified for the Lambo to receive extensive damage to its right rear when some Belgium plonker tail ended it BEFORE our race rendering the car unusable.

PORSCHE SUPERCUP AT THE BRITISH GRAND PRIX

Receiving a telephone call on the Thursday night before the weekend of the British GP would I like to compete in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup round as the Dutch Jetstream Team have a vacant seat, Answer YES I will be there Friday morning to sign on and to take part in the 40 min acclimatisation. Ready to qualify on Saturday.

Saturday qualifying went well, the team were very happy as I qualified way in front of the regular British Carrera Cup pack.

Sunday race day I have a good start and then no 2nd gear in fact no gears I coast round the first corner and walk back.
